The Dark Dark House ANTON ROTHSCHILD
Surprisingly neither a homage to Allan Ahlberg’s seminal picture book “Funnybones” or a particularly morbid addition to the dance floor, but in fact another clandestine rendezvous at the haunted, tattered and knock-down Anton Rothschild estate. Neatly reconciling the commercial sensibility of his solo debut Old Romantic EP with elements of the overly morose follow-up Secrets of the Seashore, Dark House showcases Rothschild’s limited versatility, from broken ballad’s whispered into the mic at 3.00am to bigger, brighter compositions ranging from the dirge-like to the extremely dirge-like…

CRUMBY LOVERS: A NEW WEIRD UK SAMPLER!
Is an online compilation offering up a peculiarly British response to the new weird america phenomenon. It also represents an exciting new chapter in the ‘social music revolution’ kick-started at Last.fm. The featured artists, from the length and breadth of the UK, have connived and collaborated purely thanks to the unique way in which Last.fm works to dish up this slice of Anglo-Americana for your listening pleasure. Described by www.slowcoustic.com as:
”…A unique compilation that has just been unveiled to the world via the Last.fm music community. It is not only a great idea, distribution method and free (currently), it is simply an amazing collection of songs, period. “While it can be described as lo-fi, indie, singer-songwriter and even Anglo-Americana, you can trust it is a warm yet sober journey through the current(s) of today’s congested musical seas.”
All the tracks on the album are, for a limited time only, free to download exclusively at last.fm.

BELATED SPACE: LONG AWAITED MYSPACE PAGES APPEAR
Laissez Faire Dainty artists have at long last managed to sort out their myspace pages: www.myspace.com/antonrothschild and www.myspace.com/plushconcept respectively, so go ahead and make friends with ‘em (although to be fair last.fm is a hundred million times better).
Anton’s also gone and got himself a Facebook page (sigh…)

Own It Hard PLUSH CONCEPT
Own It Hard is distorted, lo-fi electronica distilling Plush’s characteristic glitch soundscapes, eclecticism and topsy-turvy beats explored and refined through their debut Duping the Champs (with marcel duchamp) and the subsequent Kineh! EP into a harder, faster, more robust collection endlessly scurrying after new forms and ideas – perhaps they haven’t found them quite yet, but they’re having fun looking...

Good King Of Cats THE PLEASURE CRUISERS
While their debut Music for Dainty Films was principally a collection of short sketches for real or imagined films Good King Of Cats contains eight more fully realised compositions ranging from the wistful and folksy to the stark and minimal. Whether the Dainty clique of composer/arranger Thelma Thanet, along with help from Sheila Sheppey on woodwind, Anton Rothschild on guitar and producer Allen Spuchner (Plush Concept) have reached a happy medium between the experimental and the listenable only you can judge…
